Hello readers!

Sorry for the mega-delay (pun intended). Been rather busy with post-production on “Megaman” but finally have time to update you guys on how things are progressing over here!

With prinicle photography complete and various inserts, visual effects plates, and pick-up’s remaining, a huge relief is present with all the major days of shooting out of the way! Hard to believe how far we’ve came from the first day of production back on February 10th.

Two things to mention:

First off, the first part of the production retrospective has been written and shall be posted this weekend!

Secondly, the trailer. Many people seem to think the first released clip was a “trailer” of sorts which isn’t the case. It was merely a clip. The trailer, on the other hand, will reveal more of the film’s plot, visual design, special effects and action sequences! The release date of the first trailer will be revealed in the retrospective article this weekend so be sure to stay tuned! Thanks for the support!

Hello all,

My name is Eddie Lebron. I’m an independent film maker located here in New York. Up to this point, I have done 2 independent features and multiple short films currently in festival circulation. My official web site can be viewed at www.eddielebron.com

What brings me to Ningin is my next feature. Not the typical independent film by any means. In fact, all I need to say is the title and I’m sure many people would be taken back: “Megaman”.

For those that don’t remember, “Megaman” was a video game released on the Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom in 1987. The game was about a blue humanoid named Megaman (Rockman in Japan) who to had to destroy 6 robot bosses in an effort to stop evil genius, Dr. Albert Wily from conquering the world. With all it’s small innovations, the game was a moderate success until the sequel, “Megaman 2″ was released. Being a vast improvement over it’s predecessor, the game was a big hit and launched the franchise of one of the most well known characters in the gaming industries. This brings me to the film.

“Megaman” is a feature length film adaptation (currently in production) of the first game that launched this franchise. Such a film has been in demand by the video gaming fan base and as a fan of video gaming, Asian pop culture and media, I felt that could do the best I can to give justice to a live action adaptation and prevent such a film from falling in the ranks of past video game film failures. Hollywood has a history of botching video game films so as an independent film maker and Megaman fan, I decided not to wait for Hollywood to do such a film and make it myself! By means of financing it myself and recruiting the help of many talented individuals and people, I’m now on the path to bringing this film to life.

Here on Ningin is where I shall host the official news blog of the film as production continues, publicity builds up, and as post-production goes into over drive. Within the following few days, I will lay the cards on the table and answer the big question : “Why make a Megaman film?”. I will also shed light on various other aspects of what brought this film to fruition. After that, I will periodically update the blog with updates regarding the film, interesting stories, tidbits, and also let those involved in the film sahre their thoughts on the experience of working on “Megaman”,
