Hello all!

I want to apologize in regards to the delay of some of the content that was suppose to be posted some time ago. Of course, all the goodies I’ve mentioned will come soon but I will have to avoid giving due dates or release dates from now on. With my current workload and schedule (being a full-time film school student) sticking with the content schedule has been quite a feat…however, I do have time each week to get involved in the blogging aspect of things so I will be posting update blogs weekly. Since the “State Of The Film” blog is a monthly update, I will do weekly updates on various other happenings with the film. This is, of course, in addition to content I will continue to post here!

The purpose of this blog entry is to have a regularly schedule article regarding the status of the film. Where we currently stand in terms of completion, how post-production is moving along, etc. This is a way for all readers to be kept up-to-date on the current state of the film. That being said!:

Editing wise: As of now, 70% of the overall film is edited. The first 20 minutes of the film are locked editorial wise and visual effect wise. As the current rate, we may have a complete assembly cut by the Spring. This cut, however, will not have all completed visual effect shots. By Spring, the first 60-70 minutes may be locked but that is currently in the air.

Visual Effects: Editing is a cake walk compared to visual effects which are the primary reason why the film won’t be completed for a few months. We currently have 65% of all visual effects done on the film. This has mainly been compositing effects and 3D animations. More complex work begins next month and will be worked on for the following 4-6 months. This work will be mainly for the finale which is quite complex but in the end, should be a visual feast for the eyes! It’s a given the whole film will have an assembly cut before all the effects are done.

The current goal sent for the film’s completion is the last week of June. Now, let me repeat. This is the current goal. As of now, there is no release date locked nor will there be one until the film is completed enough to allow a projected release date is plausible. In other word, the the film is about 99% completed and little to no work is necessary. We are hoping the film can be premiered, screened, and released by the second week of July. We are also hoping to do a screening of the finished product at the Screw Attack Gaming Convention in Dallas the first weekend of July. Now, this all serves as motivation. Something to use as a mean to make sure we stay focus and continue to work full force on the completion of the film. When working on an independent film with no official release date, you can enjoy the completion process leisurely but may also fall victim to pushing back the completion of the film and announcing delays based on said leisure. I do not want this so I need to use this opportunity as a means of getting the film out sooner rather than later. Am I saying the release is set for July? No. No release date is official nor am I making a false promise. I am, however, letting you guys know our current goal and game plan. As we move on, we will continue to fill you guys in on the post-production process.

As for or the article in which a selected actor from “Megaman” will share their experience working on the film, we are currently awaiting said article to be sent it and should be posted within the next 4 days. When posted, I will also post an update on what more content and articles will be possible in the coming weeks.

Thanks everybody for the support and have a great one!

Hello all!

Due to the typical editorial time constraints, I was unable to put up the video of the questions and answer session at MagFest, HOWEVER, Editor Dale North of Destructoid.com, posted a rather nice transcript of the Q&A. This version, however, has been edited and condensed down so the video shall have more elaborate, longer answers! Also, in this article, is the trailer and a behind the scenes montage that were both featured on the free DVD pasted out at MagFest to those who asked questions! In addition, this Q&A only includes questions asked to me and my answers, not the questions directed to Jun Naito and David Horowitz along with their answers (which will be in the video). Oddly enough, the BTS video has a few moments of black due to a render issue which shall be corrected in the near future.

No way i wasn’t going to go through today without posting SOME sort of content for you guys! Enjoy!

Hello all!

Well, we returned from MagFest this past Sunday and all I can say is that it was an AMAZING experience. Great attendees, panels, and entertainment. The hotel was extremely nice and comfortable. I’m 99% I’m going back next year! Great gaming convention with an amazingly down to earth vibe.

On to the highlight of the trip for me: the “Megaman” movie panel. We ere scheduled for Saturday, 4PM. We arrived to our assigned room 10 minutes before presentation and, to my sadness, the room is almost empty…I got nervous. .

4PM comes….PACKED room. All seats filled, people are standing all around the back of room against the walls. And thus, my nervousness subsides. I get up in front of everyone, introduce actor Jun Naito and Producer/Costume Designer David Horowitz. and I say “I guess everyone is here for the Megaman movie, huh?”. LOUD cheer. Oh man, I’m feeling soooo good.

So the 15 minute preview screens. People are laughing at the right play, they are loving the character, loving Megaman, Roll, Wily and all the rest. At the end…..BOOM, LOUD applauses. I get up and ask the crowd “I guess you like it?”. Unified YES from the crowd. I’m overwhelmed with joy. We go into a 40 minute question and answer session. and after that, we pass out special DVD of the trailer and behind the scene footage to those who asked questions.

Afterwards, we signed autographs, chatted with other fans, and just had some fun! It does WONDERS to talk to other fans who truly believe in the film. Really helps one’s morale. Best of all, it’s shows how genuinely nice the supporters are. They were all kind, happy, and fun to talk to! A weekend I’ll never forget…

Also, a few unanswered questions were finally answered but that’s for another day…

This week, expect the “Megaman at MagFest” video which is a video of the Q and A session. Hope you guys enjoy and happy new year to all!
