Hello all,

My name is Eddie Lebron. I’m an independent film maker located here in New York. Up to this point, I have done 2 independent features and multiple short films currently in festival circulation. My official web site can be viewed at www.eddielebron.com

What brings me to Ningin is my next feature. Not the typical independent film by any means. In fact, all I need to say is the title and I’m sure many people would be taken back: “Megaman”.

For those that don’t remember, “Megaman” was a video game released on the Nintendo Entertainment System/Famicom in 1987. The game was about a blue humanoid named Megaman (Rockman in Japan) who to had to destroy 6 robot bosses in an effort to stop evil genius, Dr. Albert Wily from conquering the world. With all it’s small innovations, the game was a moderate success until the sequel, “Megaman 2″ was released. Being a vast improvement over it’s predecessor, the game was a big hit and launched the franchise of one of the most well known characters in the gaming industries. This brings me to the film.

“Megaman” is a feature length film adaptation (currently in production) of the first game that launched this franchise. Such a film has been in demand by the video gaming fan base and as a fan of video gaming, Asian pop culture and media, I felt that could do the best I can to give justice to a live action adaptation and prevent such a film from falling in the ranks of past video game film failures. Hollywood has a history of botching video game films so as an independent film maker and Megaman fan, I decided not to wait for Hollywood to do such a film and make it myself! By means of financing it myself and recruiting the help of many talented individuals and people, I’m now on the path to bringing this film to life.

Here on Ningin is where I shall host the official news blog of the film as production continues, publicity builds up, and as post-production goes into over drive. Within the following few days, I will lay the cards on the table and answer the big question : “Why make a Megaman film?”. I will also shed light on various other aspects of what brought this film to fruition. After that, I will periodically update the blog with updates regarding the film, interesting stories, tidbits, and also let those involved in the film sahre their thoughts on the experience of working on “Megaman”,

Megaman is one of my favorite games. When does the movie come out?

200X. So I guess 2010.

I hope this is good. I’ve been waiting for a Megaman movie.

Everything i’ve heard about this film has been great. I’m glad it’s a fan making this and not some random brown noser from hollywood trying to make a name for themself.

This looks awesome, I’m really excited for the finished product.

Can you say anything about the plot of the movie yet?

MORE STILLS !!!!!!

Give us the full body shot of MM in an action pose. We fans have waited 20 YEARS for this, at least give us a taste.

Or perhaps one of the robot masters in their full robot glory !?!?!?!??!

I can’t Take it anymore, I’ve been waiting since the begining of the year !!!!!

MORE STILLS AND PICS, PLEASE !!!!!

Is this movie officially sanctioned by Capcom?

Is this movie officially sanctioned by Capcom?

No, this is a fan film.

Makes it that much better, if you ask me.

It means we’ll get a MM movie that actually tells the story of MM and not have cameo appearances by Mario or Sonic or some other shit.

This is a labour of love.

Way to go Eddie !!!!

fanfilm? But how good can the graphics or visuals be without a some budget for special effects?

All these questions and more shall be addressed tomorrow night on the forum and the blog!

PS:  Capcom has contacted me in regards to the film.  Although it’s not an official film, they do support the film due to it’s non=profit nature and a rep from there is helping us in anyway he can!

YES! Looking forward to it!

What about you makes you the perfect Megaman director? I mean did you play every single Megaman game ever created and beat all of them too?

Good question Vega (was wondering that myself).

Everything I’ve seen so far looks really good and i’m glad to hear Capcom is lending their support. Should make things easier and less stressful.

Does that mean that Capcom is helping out with the forum or just giving the ok to use megaman trademarks and stuff?

My, I can’t wait. This is too exciting!

Oh man, this is going to be TOO awesome! I was waiting for someone to make a MMBN movie but it makes sense to start with the MegaMan that started it all. Besides, CHICKS. DIG. FIGHTING ROBOTS!
